If my current e-shift trans is built with SRT's parts (trans cooler, sprag upgrade, valve body) what HP would you guys say my trans is good for? Pretty sure V160 is far too expensive for me..i haven't even looked into the price of a trans swap...$$$$

Please don't buy a kit like this if you know little to nothing about turbo kits and what it takes to properly run a turboed IS300.

You should at least have a backup car. Also, buying used parts is better than buying that crappy ebay kit.

im looking at purchasing the srt kit and want to also install pistons and rods. but i want to stay in the 8.5/1 compression ratio range. what pistons would i need to accomplish this and ik the kit comes with a thicker hg. could i just buy forged pistons and rods that are exact same as oem that are just stronger?? and use the thicker hg?

or would it also be possible to run gte internals on this set up?

no matter what with forged internals you will have to get your block machined. also you can have any compression you want you just have to buy the right pistons and the thicker headgasket will help that. GTE internals will be perfect for that kit not to mention a lot less money.

It sounds like you need to do some research on turboing an IS300.

I don't really like the SRT kit, plus it might take a while for you to get it (do some research, some members don't receive anything from them till a long while).

GTE internals will work with any turbo kit......I don't see how its even a possibility that they wouldn't...

Well for some people it takes them awhile to get your stuff from mo at srt. But i'd say you wanna run 8.5 - 9 compression ratio. its all about what you wanna spend and how much power you wanna push and how much torque you want, thats the main part that came into mind in my head by making sure all my stuff would hold the amount of power i might wanna try to reach. trust me its a money pit man so be prepared for extra costs

The safest options are:

1) GE internals w/ GTE head gasket
2) GTE internals w/ GE headgasket
3) GTE internals w/ GTE headgasket

The third one is the safest but the other ones are fine. The GTE head gasket is 1.3mm thick I believe so you could find thicker ones and run them with GE internals.

Things I don't like about the SRT stage 3 turbo kit:

1) you may not get it anytime soon even if you pay now.
2) The SRT Spec'd Precision Billet 6266SP is too big for what I want
3) The "large 50mm wastegate" is a POS - wastegate is somewhere where you want quality
4) SRT 1000cc injectors are wayyyyyyy too big for most people
5) I could spend the same amount of money and have a kit build to my specs, not theirs.

This should help you.

I think theres an error though because it says that GTE head gasket and TT pistons isn't the same CR as a GTE block with the same....

Not sure if I'm thread jacking, sorry if I am, but would it be a bad idea to supercharge my car when it is at 144,000 miles?

^if you're car was properly maintained there shouldn't be a problem.

Do the necessary compression and leakdown test and then you'll have a good idea about what shape your engine is in. Find a shop that has experience with the 2JZ and ask them to perform these tests. They'll be able to determine whether or not your engine is boost ready.
