Intake manifold was revamped today courtsey of my friend Trent Stanley and Buschur Racing. The throttle cable bracket was hacked off and moved to a much better spot where it would actually align with the throttlebody. Trent also cut out the emissions garbage and welded up the holes to clear the Cam Position Sensor(CPS) Fits like a glove now.
Moving on to the dual fuel pumps, I have a box of all of the necessary fittings to complete the intank setup desired. Thank You David!
Eric and Phillz...why is the tb welded onto the intake mani at such an extreme angle toward the fender instead of straight toward the front of the car? I know you moved the ecu, so that isnt a problem, but isnt that pipe going to be really hard to fit now?
That’s a very good question. I suppose SLS did that for a reason, but I haven't the slightest idea why. It should fit, and will require even more customizing to get right. Out of all the parts on this build the intake manifold is the one I hate the most. Buschur has done more work on it than SLS ever did. You should have seen it when we first got it. It wasn't even welded on the outside where the runners meet the plenum. Then we sent it out to get polished, as SLS didn’t even do that. Then it doesn’t fit so we had to hack at it even more. On top of all that the throttle cable mount wasn't even close to where the throttle cable was actually going to mount to the throttle body.
Lets not venture to the future when were trying to make power and the intake manifold decides to split at the seams. The plenum is very thin, I highly doubt this thing will hold up to 40+ lbs of boost. It better after all the work I’ve put into making it fit. I hope were not polishing a turd.
