Get a high quality turbo kit or you will be kicking yourself later when you want to run more power
Also plan on raising the compression above the GE compression? doesn't seem very boost friendly

What are you planning on doing with this car???? 800hp for a DD street car??? It sounds cool when you are 16 years old, but my old Supra with 550whp was expensive as hell for a DD and once gas prices went up to $3+ a gal just a year or 2 ago, I had to part the car out and get rid of it just so I could buy an affordable and more reliable DD.

But if you want my opinion on a MKIV NA-T, I wouldn't do it!! The turbo car has different suspension, etc. I figured up for a customer of mine a couple of years ago, what it would take to make his NA identical to a stock TT car and it was cheaper for him to buy a TT car. If you just want the turbo and don't care nothing about the brakes, suspension, etc. I would probably lean towards an Aristo swap.

lol ur crazy dude, 800-1000 hp... and ebay kit? uve been watching too many supra vids. unless u got over 15 gs lying around in ur backyard, dont bother doing it up... do it properly, u wont regret it. the most basic srt turbo kits already like 5-6 gs.... and u might as well change it to manual if ur gna get that much hp.. its no fun auto in my perspective

If i understand correctly you have 2 goals......

1. Avoid Your fears of a k20 beating ur N/a supra thus making your peers laugh and point at you..

Solution: If cheap and quick boost is what you want, i would say to run a good nitrous setup meantime. It makes no sense wasting money on a turbo kit that wont meet ur goals in the end.

2. Kill yourself with 1000hp....

solution: buy a Bugatti, get a real supra TT, borrow a friends 1000hp supra, sell your house (should you own one), or rob a bank to get the money...

Call up Boost Logic. Their T61 2JZ-GE turbo kit works great. My IS300 was a test car for the setup back in the day. I have just TT internals in the bottom end of my 2JZ block and I'm doing fine.
It works great on NA Supras as well and this should be good for 400-500rwhp.

I am running a Tec3. Not sure if I would advise or disadvise with this because I know dick-dill about fuel management setups.
Halteck seems to be great for people. So is AEM. I would just do more research and check the NA-T section of Supraforums.com

If you eventually want 800-1000rwhp then you will want forged aftermarket internals. The TT pistons and what not have been proven to hold up to 700-800rwhp. But why chance it. Just get the good stuff and you'll be ok.

Biggest advice was already said. Don't be a cheap ass and cut any corners. You WILL PAY FOR IT one way or another... you always do.

XS power is still a good platform to get you started. you wont be able to slap on a kit and have 800-1000 hp. yes it will be a lot of work, and yes a lot of stuff is gonna break. you can meet these goals na-t. but it would probably be easier to sell your na and by the tt. mark from xspower has a kit that is claimed to reach 799hp.

$1999 gets you:
GT45 T4 turbocharger (1.05AR Hot .66AR Cold, 4" V-Band Out)
4" V-Band Clamp kit
4" stainless intake pipe
4" polished stainless v-band down pipe
4" polished stainless v-band midpipe
12x24x4" polishd aluminum front mount intercooler
2JZ-GTE polished stainless manifold
GT2 Style 60mm v-band mount Wastegate - compare to HKS (you will need to weld v-band to manifold) available in silver, purple or black anodize
polished stanless v-band dump tube
50mm V-Band mounted blow off valve - compare to TiAl avail in red, blue or clear anodize
braided oil supply line & high temp drain lines
aeromotive style FPR
3" generic polished stainless piping with couplers and clamps

you will still need :

to upgrade your fuel system, beefcake internals, beefcake head gasket, fuel control and get a 4" exhaust. also, standalone would be your best bet for engine management. for your goals im not sure which EMS would be your best bet, but i know that haltech is great with 300+ hp.

join this forum, and research here, there a lot of good Q's and A's and it seems like everyone who has purchased an XSpower kit from mark has had no problems at all.

p.s. with a turbo that big, or big enough to handle your goals, you will have super lag. idk if its even worth it if you are going to keep it a street car. 500+ hp and on is more show than go IMO.

We all had these thoughts when we first got into cars ALL OF US DID. just gonna do this, just gonna do that... ignorance is bliss... he will figure it out on his own... no need to flame the poor kid.
we know the road hes going to head down (if hes not talking out of his ass of course)...
its gonna be a bumpy one.

once he figures out that the fuel system to support those power numbers will cost more then his beloved ebay turbo kit... he will see the light lol...

well i went with the xs power kit on my 98 na supra.......i haven't had any problems with the kit......i've had for over 5k miles and counting.....

the only thing in the kit that will need to be changed is the oil feed and return lines then you should be good....im on stock fuel and compression

im also using the FIC......i also wanted just to boost the car so im hitting over 300whp.....i thought i would be happy with this which i was for a short while.....now im not lol......after doing more research i see the best thing would to be go with a GTE VVTI swap which i plan to over the winter hopefully.....

so basically i did NA-T for no reason which probably cost me over $4000 easy....with that money i could have had a gte vvti ready to be dropped in by now.....

Your tranny won't do 800-1000whp.
I'm not quite sure you understand how much time, effort and money goes into something like that. It's not a simple documented and easy to follow process. I've been working on my build for 3 years and I'll probably make in the 600's on higher octane fuel and never push it past that.

Get the ebay kit and throw it on. For low power and that kit, either the AEM or the Haltech will suit you just fine.

If your goal is to buy stuff so you don't have to buy stuff again for your 800-1000whp goal then I'd go with the Haltech E11 or whatever newest version is out there. Your turbo kit probably won't be re-usable for the big power build. The only thing you'd keep is the EMS.
