Saw an ad in clippermagazine for Performance Window Tinting & Auto Detailing in Columbia, MD (performancewindowtinting.com). I don't know anything about them thought, but thought I would inform/ask. I have a $20 off coupon in here for full window tinting. I still haven't tinted my 2008 IS 350 (bought it new in January)

How is this place compared to SRT?

I'm actually looking for somewhere good to go w/ my stock IS 350 to make sure it's driving 100%? would either this place or SRT be good places to visit? Those two places are the closest to me, I live in Laurel, MD

I'm at around 24,000 miles and feel the ride isn't as smooth as it was on day 1. I thought it'd be worth it to have it looked at by someone real familiar with an IS as opposed to asking the dealer or Firestone (another place I go to often). How much would a service like this run? Would you guys advise it?

Putting stickers on fake wheels to pass them off is the same as a girl rocking a fake Gucci or a Lamborghini kit car or some fake Jordan's. If you can't afford to play then rock the lower end brands and stop playing yourself.

^ Heard good things about this place on clublexus: Need an alignment shop in NoVA - Club Lexus Forums

Seems the other good recommendation in the thread was ultimate performance:

The first ride there was something not right at all so they took it back in and aligned it again. Second time it was perfect. Probably the straightest car I have ever driven. The only things that sucked was the price and I had to wait about 3 hours.

Also they got my front 2 wheel into spec and the backs are out only by .2 on the right and .3 on the left. Thatís pretty damn good for S techs/tokicos.

All in all they do great work but are very expensive.
^^^ Glad to hear man, I've always been satisfied w/Ultimate Performance -- yes they're pricey but I think it's pretty much the going rate for any "specialty" shop. They're customer service is TOP notch and they've always been straight up and honest w/me.

You should've let me know you were going there, I'm only 10 mins.
Where is Ultimate Performance actually located. Did the yahoo yellow pages and couldn't find them.

Unfortunately both Manassas and Sterling are pretty far from me. If there's nothing in MD though I guess that's where I'll have to go

Give NTO MOTORSPORTS a call. Tell them exactly what you are looking to get done. They are a great group of guys who are very knowledgeable in the Toyota Lexus field. They are straight toward and will tell exactly what the best options are for you. They are right around the corner from SRT. Good luck!

Anyone in MoCo and north, IAG is a great shop. I haven't taken the IS300 there yet, but had my evo there and they're great.

I have just found a shop that would do timing belt, serpetine belt and all seals, water pump, thermostat, accessory belt, Spark plugs, Coolant replacement, Brake fluid replacement, Oil change, oil filter, fuel filter. Replace diff fluid, replace brake fluid & bleed system, replace trans fluid, and lube all door hinges and latches. And they are reasonably priced too. An alignment is $79.99 and they give you like a 10 dollars off. And they have something call a 1 year, 3 year, 5 year alignment. What it is, is that you pay for the alignment the first time and after that you can come back up to 10 times within one year. I think the one year price is 114.99 and the 3 year is 159.99. They also do tires. I got a set of tires from them is was only 800 with alignment. They always have some kind of deal. I think right now they are doing buy 1 get 1, or buy 2 get 2. They are friendly and they take their time to get it right the first time.

There is a guy who work there own a 2010 is 350, that was one of the reason why I trusted them to work on my car.

a +1 to IAG. I had the Alignment done (my car's second one - first was done by dealer for free w/in 12k miles) there back in Feb for $99. in March I had them install front and rear F-Sport Sway bars installed for $160). In June they took a look at the alignment again and adjusted for free (unfortunately it didn't solve the problem which I think is related to my new Tires) and also tightened something w/ my sway bars which stopped the clanking noise I was hearing.

The downside though is how far in advance you have to schedule the appointments. I'm not sure if other places are like this. So be prepared to deal with that.

Is there an equivalent to PTuning in Maryland? - closer to the DC/Baltimore area? I'd like to be able to get my tires, have them mounted and possibly aligned all from the same place.

Couple months late but Elite Importz does all my work in Laurel. They're not a performance shop like PTuning but they do suspension, wheels, aftermarket installs and general vehicle maintenance. The owner Chris is a cool dude with a nice ass LS460.
