There were a lot of difficult parts. Because it is a partial kit, it gives you a lot of ability to change things (hell, you can throw out what came with the kit and change a lot more even) which inevitably brings forth problems. The assembly manual

is ~300 pages for the whole car and is designed around you using a late model Mustang 5.0 as a donor car. We used mostly new parts so there was almost always something that we were troubleshooting, modifications to make things fit, buying even more things to get the original change to work, etc. Wiring the whole car is a pain in the ass, too. In the end though, it is a whole lot of fun and gives you a great opportunity to learn more about cars, putting it together yourself really allows you to understand how all the systems work together.
