I guess I phrased it wrong. The Z is right there numbers wise but from all accounts it's not in the ballpark for every day use or technology. The Z is just a light car w/ a huge motor.

Right...both are very similar in terms of performance. But the GTR is a car you could drive everyday and sacrifice nothing. The Z06 would alter what you could and couldn't do with the vehicle quite a bit. Things like approach angles, getting groceries, having more than one girl in the car....it would be tough

Also for the Z06 lovers watch the top gear on the new Z06. He loves the car at first then tells how he really feels after a little bit more of driving it. Its still a cheap built car to say the least. Now before I get yelled at i would love to have a Z06, so dont get it twisted
I'm sure we'll be seeing alot more GTRs in that state in the near future^^^
Very impressive numbers so far. I would like to drive one soon before i make a judgment on whether or not i think the GTR is better than the Z06. I have driven a C6 Z06 before and it was damn impressive in my opinion. It was impressive period and even more impressive considering the price. As stated previously by another member the Z06 is raw. It's fast, it's American, and it's bad ass. I think there's something about that LS7 7.0 Liter that i really enjoy. It's a big cubed, no bs, no power adder engine.
Not to take anything away form the GTR, as stated i've obviously never driven one but the Z06 is almost as fast with no power adder. Granted it uses cubic inches and extra cylinders to make up for the lack of turbochargers, it is a damn magical engine in my opinion. Boost is awesome, and technology is advancing by the day, as we can see forced induction being used by manufacturers more and more on their hottest platforms. But theres just something about all motor that really tickles my pickle.
