Doesn't quite make sense in their lineup. SUVs and "spirited handling", which BMWs were always known for, don't go well in the same sentence, even though BMW SUVs/SAVs, whatever, are the best handling in their class. I think they should stick to their cars and just improve on the styling. Overall, with their recent shift in engine philosophy (turbocharging small/mid sized engines, versus bumping displacement) and efficient dynamics, etc., I think they're the most innovative and progressive auto manufacturer, and the only one whose stock I would love to own.

How does this differ from the X3? Looks way too similar.

i dont like the chin. it hutts out too much, methinks.
the X3 is going to be replaced and i think the X1 is that. Or the X1 is for Euro consumption and the new X3 would be for the American market.

im guessing this has the same platform/chassis as the 1 series. I have an X5, and honestly, love the car. It does handle like a car no doubt.
