Interesting video. The track result came out as expected with the M3 on top. However in the drag race I would have expected the 335i to win the drag race since it has twice as much torque. For those who didn't see the video... they claim the 335i squats and bogs down for a bit when you gun the throttle... while the M3 just launches forward right away.

But also interesting for them to say that with a bit of suspension work they think the Dinan 335i could rape the M3.

^With 335s running 11's out there I have a feeling the first mod should have been the driver.

Can't view the vid at work.

There's a warranty associated with the work. I'm not sure who honours it tho. But thru either Dinan or BMW... yes... you'll have a warranty.

Damn, the 335 is just so badass. Come Q4 2008, I will have a hard time deciding between a 335 (not coupe) or a B9 S4.

First of all, most people getting E92 M3's are not paying dealer markups anymore. So the price gap is very close between the two cars.

When Dinan releases the ///M E90/E92 prodcuts, it would be interesting to see a Dinan M3 vs. a Dinan 335i. Judging from the video and the 'test drivers', they had NO real testing equipment and seemed to be lacking critical testing knowledge. Having some average driver take two competing cars out for a track TT doesn't equally compare the vehicles. Neither does drag racing two cars against each other. The 'test' was mainly for entertainment purposes, and it worked well.

How else do you test straight line speed other than by having a drag race?

Also... by having the same guy drive two cars around the same track... sounds like a pretty even comparison to me.

What "professional equipment" do you need to have to see which car crosses the line first?

I have done testing for AMCI, I know how it works. There are over 190 testing characteristics to go through to do a complete certified test.

you have to take into consideration that they are trying to show you everything in a span of a few minutes. i'm sure there is alot more "behind the sceens" that they cut out in order to make it presentable

weird how the m5board tested a procede'd 335 versus a stock m3. the 335 edged it out a bit.
