oneeyejack did u ever get the circuit board and the tilt buttons to work. i hope u did becuase its one of the coolest parts of the unit. also when u get the circuit board the unti will close it self and open when u turn the car on automatically just like the factory. sure hope u get this part of the install before u start selling opr helping people do it or spending money on the 200.00 plus dollar circuit board. oh yeah did u ever look at the correct way to mount the motor too without drilling your own hole in the side of the unit. just curious.

Not everyone is out to pawn off their knowledge for a quick buck ya know :wink: :wink:
I was looking over your instructions and this seems like something I'd definatly be interested in doing. My only question is where do you hook the car power into that circuit board that controls the buttons and motor? Is that a hassle?
Thanks.
Can we get an asnwer to this please, posted publically? I'm sure everyone else who wants to do this will need to know this step as well. I checked other posts and for some reason the answer is always a PM... why not make it public and enlighten us all!!

Ok.. here you go..
A quote from OneEye's PM;
Quote:
the best thing you can do right now is to tap power into the motor and make a switch for it. if you can't do it bring it to an audio shop and they should be able to get power to it.
Basically, he hooked his own power switch up to the device so he just has to flick that on to make the unit work. I think SanDiegoLexus has the unit working when you turn the car on... so nag him. Post if you figure something out.
SanDiegoLexus - Why don't you just help us all out and post a wiring diagram for the control circuit instead of trying to make $$$ off of everyone. Take IS300GTEand LisnUp65 for example. Look at how much of their knowlege and experience they are willing to share with the board without expecting anything in return.
lex_is_300 - first off i told oneeyejack how to do it. since he made the post on how to build the thing i figured he would have updated and put it in the instructions. ever since i built this thing and put it in my car, i get 12 to 15 pm's daily about people wanting to do this in there car. and all of them want a deal and a special price. i have helped and made repreated messages over and over and the same questions come up and to be honest i helped a lot, i gave all the part numbers, and the cost of all the parts. i cant walk everyone through this thing. some people really need to get a mind of their own and learn how to do things by themselves. as oneeyejack did and i commend him for that. i offered the complete unit for a reasonable price, u get all the parts, a warranty through me that if your not happy or it doesnt work i will buy it back from you, and the fact that it works. all buttone, and circuit board fuctions work. when i posted all the part numbers i didnt ask for anything in return, then posted my complete kit, and those people who had the chance to do it themselves still went through me. thats not my fault, they just wanted a 0 hassel product that worked. i have been and always am willing to help but a person gets burnt out so befor you come to me telling me why i should help everyone know the fact and dont waste you time posting posts like this cause it waste my time as well as everyone elses on this site. yes it's motorized. you can't get it cheaper. and yes it's the 02 nav housing. that's the first year they started producing them and it says so right in the title.

oneeyejack, your setup looks so sweet, thats exactly what i want to do. Cept I want to use a PS2 instead of the DVD player that you have.
Anywayz, this mite be a real dumb question that everyone knows, but where is your navigation system??? And like how does it work???
nav is in the trunk. click on the pics in my sig. how does a nav work??? uh....it works be sending a signal up to a satellite and that's how it follows your car around. there's a dvd that contains a map in the nav unit that has all the roads on it.
