oneeyejack, is the fahrenheit monitor the only monitor you can fit into the stock nav housing??? Also, do you hook your system to the stock speakers or you have to get aftermarket speakers? Will the Pioneer navigation unit that plays DVD work with the fahrenheit screen? Appreciate it if you can answer these, thanks!

i haven't tried fitting other screens into there. if you find something that's approximately the same dimensions as the farehenit screen then it will fit.
my nav is connected to through a separate speaker.
i'm sure the panasonic nav unit will work the the screen. as long as the pansonic unit has rca out then you'll be fine.
thanks for the reply, do you know if it is possible to hook the system to stock speakers?
most likely not. they haven't made anything yet that can do that. it's really hard to tap into the stock system. they only way to intergrate everything is if you bought an aftermarket head unit.
hmm...thanks. sorry if i miss this, but are you still using the stock speakers? where does the sound of the DVD players and navigation comes from?
yup, still using the stock speakers. like i said, i'm using a fm modulator for the dvd player. that let you use a radio frequency such as 88.7 to get sound from the dvd player to your stock radio system. think of it as a little radio station inside your car. when your radio is set to that station it will receive the sound from the dvd.
the nav has it's own separate speaker that it uses. it's installed near the pedals on the driver side.
I was looking over your instructions and this seems like something I'd definatly be interested in doing. My only question is where do you hook the car power into that circuit board that controls the buttons and motor? Is that a hassle?
