**PICS/VIDEOS** New Alpine Nav/DVD/TV Stock Motorized Housing
****FULL PARTS LIST ON POST #45, page 2****
After many bumps in the road, I finally got the whole system installed.
The setup:
Stock Motorized Housing
Alpine TME-M770S Touch Screen
Alpine NVE-N872A Navigation System
Alpine TUE-T151 TV Tuner
PS2 Slim
Vais Tech auxiliary input (sound from anything showing on screen or iPod comes out of stock sound system)
I built a custom iPod mount out of sheetmetal, spray painted it black, put some velvet material in the holder when the ashtray used to be, and Vais cable is hidden and comes up from underneath.
Check out these two videos for a narrated descriptive demonstration of the whole thing haha
can u post a pic of how u mounted ur ps2 slim in the glove! thanks
it's just sitting in the glove compartment right now. i havent figured out what i'll do yet. any suggestions?
(i saw a cool post of a guy who built a mounting bracket out of metal and high density foam and mounted it upside down on the back wall or the glove box)
haha couldnt tell if you were being sarcastic or not, but then i saw your +rep. thanks for that. +rep to you for all the times ive run into helpful or funny posts of yours on this forum

the only this that is "stock" or actual lexus parts is the housing (which is the whole dash setup that makes the screen go up and down when i push the button or turn the car on/off).
inside the housing is an alpine screen, and hooked up to the alpine screen is an alpine nav system, an alpine tv tuner, and a ps2 slim.
i got kinda lucky with the install. after running into a few shops that didnt wanna deal with it because it was a "custom" job and because they didnt wanna work with lexus parts and making the housing motorized, i found a guy willing to give it a shot at a place called sound advice here in miami. its a pretty big chain of stores that mainly sells TVs and stuff like that, but recently they started working on cars too (im not sure if sound advice exists in other parts of the country). he did an awesome job, made it look perfectly factory, worked on it one full day and charged me a little less that 400 bucks. i dont have much to compare it to, but that seemed pretty cheap to me for a custom install like this one.
let me know if there's other features you guys would like to see and i'll post some new videos if necessary
i have basically the same setup as you....but how did you do the audio? a/b switch or what, i have never heard of that method...
thanks MIke
not sure what that is, an a/b switch. i have it all going thru the Vais Tech aux input unit. it connects the ipod + one other input of your choice to your stock sound system without having to remove or change anything (which i chose to be the alpine screen, so that whatever the screen is showing, be it nav, tv, or dvd, will be sounding)
if u havent heard of this unit, check it out, it turned out to be great: http://www.vaistech.com/
the one i got was the ipod one
I have to say this is by far the best integrated stock sterio I have seen.
And I love it, if I would have not gone crazy with SQ this would be right up my ally. I just love how stock everything looks and opperates. Hell i might have to sell my sunvisor screens and do this now.
for the record, the following people NEED to be thanked cuz without them, i would have had no clue what to do, all the way from buying the right things to getting them installed:
monkeypee
oneeyejack (perfect instructions, without them no installer would have ever considered this project)
thedon and PureNick (i bugged them on the phone so much, thanks so much for helpin out)
