as requested some impressions from my car. I'm going mad with this black paint. After yoü've washed the car you'll find everywehre these tiniy little scratches. The fotos where taken after I've polished the car - by hand - with swizoil

I am interested in this but have a few quick qs for you.

1. It looks like you needed to modify the connector that connects to the HU, was this something you ran into as an install issue or is that how it comes from Grom?
2. Will this charge the Ipod as I play it?
3. How long is the supplied cord that connects from the HU to the Ipod (black in your pictures). Reason is I want to put my ipod in the center armrest cubby (think under the arm rest) would this be possible?

thank you for your questions I will try to answer them:

OK this was my fault. I've add a photo where a cable was seen that I've done by myself and that was fitted BEFORE I received the Grom box. The reason why I've post the photo was just to show you gus that the relevant harness is usually unplugged and can be used for the Grom adapter.

The iPod is NOT connected direct to the HU. First of all you have a pretty short - car specific - cable from the HU to the GromAudio black box. This black box can be stored below the radio inside of the middle console. From this black box an iPod docking cable (my picture just shows the alternative RCA AUX cable to the iPOD docking cable) runs directly into the iPod. This cable is long enough to store your POD under the armchest.

But why do you want to store the POD there? If you are using the Grom box you can control the first 8 Playlist on you iPod over the stock HU without. I placed my iPod in the glove box. This works really cool, because nobody can see the device and I just can leave it in the car when I park somewhere...

awesome man! i'd +rep you some more but apperently i need to spread it around some more before i give to you again!

the reason for the arm rest is because i carry my ipod with me pretty much everywhere and i like to toss it in there currently with my cell phone and all so i remember to take it out for use at work and in the house (ihome = ftw!)

hopefully santa is looking at this thread for all those who need the ipod hookup!

Just got the grom today, and I am very happy with it
works just like sonnet said it would
the only thing is you can hear a very faint buzz from the amp when no music is playing... i dont even know if thats usually there but I noticed it when I pushed the button to go to the external cd changer input... but it doesent matter because you cant hear it when your ipod is playing

Ipod is very clear

I had done the aux. in for my ipod and just wasnt happy with it(way to many wires)

this is soooo much cleaner to install and seriously you can do it in 10 minutes, very happy
