Yeah same for me. I would like to get the new replacement one considering I have no sound in the left side of my car...

this is a great product!
i received my kit last week and installed it right away. install was a breeze (< 1hr) as it's plug and play. no problems whatsoever getting it to work with my ipod touch. i also have my headlights on auto all the time and i have experienced none of the issues reported in this thread so i'm assuming the bug has been fixed in their recently produced units.
so glad i can ditch the cds now!

If only he would send out the updated chip on time.
Maybe I should have gone with the Vaitech...

E-mail them a few times and they will get you taken care of. I received my chip today, and it works great with or without headlights on before startup. Be patient, GROM will take care of you... Hopefully. Now I'm wiring in the Drive + Play to see how it works with the GROM...

Where are you going to mount your display/control unit. I have yet to find a good location for those.

Well I got it installed tonight, took a little while because I took my time and wanted it done cleanly. Everything worked out, new chip from GROM works great, GROM works fine with the Drive + Play and all in all I'm pretty happy.

I bought a pro clip low mount from pro clip to mount the controller on, and I mounted the screen on the plastic piece above the head unit, right above the felt piece.
I tied it into the cig lighter, and it worked fine.
Heres the mount I bought, price was a little ridiculous, but I'm happy with its location, while driving it works great, my arm is resting on hand brake and I can scroll through songs effortlessly.
ProClip Mounting System - Choose Your Country

Here I snapped a few quick pics, excuse the blurriness, my camera is garbage and I rushed it haha...

It would be awesome if the Drive + Play itself was black, so it would match a little better, and if the lights were amber, I thought about tearing it apart to see if I could change the LED's, but it won't be in my car too long, hopefully being replaced with a Nav sometime. I just set the back light timer to 10 seconds so it dims and you can't see the bright blue.

All in all I spent around $30 for the brand new Drive + Play on ebay (there are tons of them cheap), $30 for the mount, and the $80 for the GROM (which I got way before the D + P). A little steep in my mind, but its a nice setup and I'm happy with it.

Hey, nobody's really talked about this... but I was wondering if anybody had their head unit display the elapsed time of each track? It seemed liked it worked on the first day I installed it, but it doesn't seem to do it anymore.

Also, you guys left off one of the cables from the supplied Y-Cable right? I really rushed through the install...

Thanks!

The elapse time issue is normal since the the headunit does not take info from the I-pod as to track star/stop. sometimes you will see start, usually the first time you turn it on but after that it will remain at zero or the position where it last left off. no biggie. The cables are a bit diff depending on you year IS. on th 01s since they have a separate plug the signal + and - to the amp, I belive, then all pluhgs on th Y are used. The 02 and newer did not have the xtra plug for said signals therefore one plug on the Y is left unused. FEEL FREE TO CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG!. HOPE THIS HELPS.

Finally got around to install the GROM. Install was a breeze. Sound quality was amazing but something might be wrong. In the middle of a song, I would hear both the CD and the mp3 player going and finally the only I hear is the CD. Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

I installed a Grom adapter purchased in January, so it likely has the issues reported at the beginning of the thread. So far, the only negative experienced is the well documented headlight/power on issue. Great investment!
