man, I'm not into car stereo/equipment usually, but this is awesome.
I could hook up a mini cam on the license plate and a hidden one on the roof and then record to this thing for kills and get togethers and stuff. Not to mention all the music and sheite I could use it for.
AWESOME work and clean install. If the screen was touchscreen i'd dig it even more instead of the mouse. I guess you could rig up some touchpad as a mouse.
I did the same with a PC laptop... google lilliput screens... my screen is a touch screen so that I can use a stylus type pen and navigate winxp...
Ok I'm back for a little bit. Its almost 2 in the morning and it may be the only time I have to post until this weekend is over. I have been really busy finishing some new things in the car. Long hours and sleepless nights. For those of you who will be going to the Spring Break Nationals in Daytona, FL I will have the car there for you to check it out. If you do go stop by and say hi.

I have had a mac in my car for 2 years now, nothing new. Only mine goes with me, its called a 17" Powerbook G4. DVDs, iTunes, 802.11G, Bluetooth... full mobile video production facility (final cut pro HD, Motion, Shake, DVDstudio Pro, Logic, Protools....)

I have had a mac in my car for 2 years now, nothing new. Only mine goes with me, its called a 17" Powerbook G4. DVDs, iTunes, 802.11G, Bluetooth... full mobile video production facility (final cut pro HD, Motion, Shake, DVDstudio Pro, Logic, Protools....)
Actually, I have been a long time Mac user. I have also had Macs in all my cars since 1988, but I would eventually take them out because they took up too much room. When the Mac Mini was released I knew this was a lot better for me than the previous Macs I installed. Plus, the size is really perfect. Its a lot better than me trying to stick either my G5 Server or Xserve G5 w/Xserve RAID in my car and the only time I use my PowerBook is at home.
The way it was installed, I am able to take the Mac Mini in and out of the car just like my PowerBook with the same applications.

The second stage of the Mac Mini install is complete. Some of you already saw it at the Spring Break Nationals in Daytona. I will be posting some new picts sometime today until I can have Tony take better ones.
Here are some of the changes:
Custom touch screen now sits in the dash.
Usb 2.0 and Firewire hub now sits below the touch screen
Pioneer Flip out screen radio is now located in the glove box.
Mac Mini moved from glove box to armrest with lights added.
