Avic d3 with Metra Toyota Interface TYTO01 +++NO SOUND+++
I have just finished install Avic D3 with Metra Toyota Interface TYTO01 and insert a movie in to test it see if it works. The dvd player but there isnt any sound came out of the speakers. What went wrong?
Also I have another question is that does any knows what is the blue wire with white stripe on the Metra Toyota Interface TYTO01 for. I ddint hooked it up.
The Metra harness is rumored not to work with 2001 IS300s
Can somebody tell me how/why it wouldn't work for an '01?
I've been doing searches for the last two nights... there is a very small handful of '01 owners that got it to work. But some of them are saying it ALL depends where your OEM amp was made...
where is the factory amp located. I look in the right side of trunk couldnt find it. if i know where it is located so i can see if it on or off or amy power goes through there
do a search, ull find all those answers there. i dont know myself. its somewhere behind the glovebox or something. chances are if u connected the blue/white wires together, it is on. your car isnt working because its 2001 i think.

It's behind the fuses on the passenger-side kick panels.
find out what wire ur front speakers are, left or right dont make a differance, Dont cut it but splice it so u can get into the wire and connect one of the radio wire for the speakers, purple, grey, green, white and see if u get sound that way. if u do then u will just have to repalce the rear speakers ( since they are 2ohms and will mess up ur D)3 and and rewire the rear speakers.
