Can somebody tell me how/why it wouldn't work for an '01?

I've been doing searches for the last two nights... there is a very small handful of '01 owners that got it to work. But some of them are saying it ALL depends where your OEM amp was made...

I am still confused!?!!?

Well the blue/white wire is what turns on your factory amp, so that DEFINITELY has to be connected. You connected the Metra's to the D3's right?

And I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed that it doesn't work on 01...not sure though.

do a search, ull find all those answers there. i dont know myself. its somewhere behind the glovebox or something. chances are if u connected the blue/white wires together, it is on. your car isnt working because its 2001 i think.

It's behind the fuses on the passenger-side kick panels.

metra harness 3 - 01 lexus is300 0

i guess the best thing for u to do is try this.

find out what wire ur front speakers are, left or right dont make a differance, Dont cut it but splice it so u can get into the wire and connect one of the radio wire for the speakers, purple, grey, green, white and see if u get sound that way. if u do then u will just have to repalce the rear speakers ( since they are 2ohms and will mess up ur D)3 and and rewire the rear speakers.

Where did you buy your metra harness?

I got mine (it's on its way) at Circuit City... I am gonna give it a try. If it doesn't work, I will bring it back and return it.
