Im 25, have a decent job and am still struggling to make payments along with all my other expenses. I cant imagine how these youngins can afford their car if theyre buying it themselves. Im not knocking them if mommy and daddy pays for them, just extremely jealous!=) So instead of saying some BS, like i worked hard in school so I got my car as a reward, just admit you are a spoiled brat. (by the way, you are supposed to work hard in school, thats why its called school!). its like saying, buy me an IS cuz I brush my teeth every morning...gimme a break

I would rep you but i repped too many people today!

I'm searching for an IS300 around my area around 20k or less, and I was wondering what would be a sufficient amount of down payment so that my interest rates don't go through the roof. Keep in mind that I'm only 18 (yes i work for my money) and I will be attending college next year.

this is to that kid who said all those other kids are spolied and shiiiizt. im 18 yrs old....yea some of those kids ARE spolied, but me ...i worked my ass off for my 04 is. i love the car. i work and i pay for it. i traded in my old beamer a 93 325is pretty mint i got 2500 for that then i put another 2500 down. so for a total of 5000 down im payin 280 a month. i plan on definetly buyin it off, my reasoning is that you can get even more money off the price. at the end of lease id pay more than half the cars worth almost. so then i say hey ill buy it if u take 2000 off. theyll do it. they dont want to take time to sell it. theyd still be getting less if they did. im payin for it myself. my father pays for my insurance. thats it. i aint spoiled and anything i do get i earn it bc i respect my mom and pops. hopefully those kids at least earned it and know the value of a dollar.

man this thread came from the graveyard in 03.

Enkei, rates don't really go by your down payment. Rates are determined by your credit score really. The bank or dealer will run your credit, get your score, and tell you what your rate of interest is and how much they will loan you.

So what kind of credit do you have if you have no credit? lol sorry for such the stupid question. I'm probably better off asking my parents to take out a loan for me and then just paying them back monthly.
